Mission

The Greater Minnesota Partnership is a nonprofit corporation devoted to advocating for state economic development policies and resources that benefit Greater Minnesota. The public-private partnership brings together businesses, economic development organizations, local governments and non-profits to promote economic growth and prosperity in Greater Minnesota and, in turn, create a stronger Minnesota.

History

The Greater Minnesota Partnership originated in 2012 as a task force of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, with the goal of stimulating job growth and prosperity in Greater Minnesota by creating partnerships between cities, businesses, nonprofits, and other stakeholders. In its first year of  advocacy, the Partnership successfully championed the establishment of two new state economic development programs and netted $18 million in funding targeted towards Greater Minnesota.

Due to growing interest in its programs and the desire to branch out to addition stakeholders, the GMNP was established as a separate, standalone advocacy organization in 2013. Today, the GMNP has more than 80 members and is one of the leading advocates for businesses and economic growth in Greater Minnesota.
